About

We are The Junior League of Fort Wayne

Above all else, our goal is to promote and perpetuate social change in the Fort Wayne communities that will benefit most from it. By empowering women and providing valuable leadership training, we are giving local women the tools to get involved, put their talents to work, and positively impact the communities of Fort Wayne.

Strength in Numbers

As one of hundreds of Junior League chapters across the world, we are a member of the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. (AJLI). In 1919 a small group of high school women created a charter for the E. Jane Hamilton Society and dedicated their efforts to community projects. In 1941, this group applied for and was accepted as a member organization of AJLI. The Junior League of Fort Wayne plays an integral part in the development, improvement, and support of the communities of Fort Wayne.

Our Local Impact

As a local partner in food insecurity, The Junior League of Fort Wayne is engaged and committed to ensure access by all people, in particular the poor and people in vulnerable situations, to safe, nutritious and sufficient food all year round. Right now, our primary focus of eliminating food insecurity requires immediate action, and we are in the process of developing a multi-faceted approach to make an impact. Recently, we refocused our efforts to eliminating food insecurity and are in the process of assembling a community advisory board to determine how we can make the largest impact in Fort Wayne with our available resources. If you’re interested in learning more about our current focus or developing your own civic leadership skills, we welcome you to learn more or connect with us.

Help Us Lead Change

There is always more work to be done, more help needed, and more opportunities to make an impact in Fort Wayne. The empowered women of The Junior League of Fort Wayne are working to improve our local communities through leadership and effective action. Will you join them?
